Aerial Ash Scattering

My Promise to You and Your Family

A message from Cole Alexander, founder of Aerial Ash Scattering

My name is Cole Alexander, and I’m a licensed skydiver with over four years of experience and more than 575 successful jumps. But this isn’t just about numbers—it’s about something much deeper.

Aerial Ash Scattering isn’t just a business I started. It’s a promise I made.

It began with a close friend—a fellow skydiver and someone I considered family. When he passed away unexpectedly, his final wish wasn’t to rest in a cemetery or sit on a shelf in an urn. He wanted to be set free in the sky—the same sky we had spent countless weekends jumping into, laughing, and living life to the fullest.

When the time came, I took his ashes with me on a skydive. At 14,000 feet, I opened my hands, and the wind took him. No words. No audience. Just the sky, the sound of air rushing past, and a feeling I’ll never forget.

It was peaceful. It was powerful. And it felt right.

That single moment changed the course of my life. It made me realize that other families might be looking for something similar—a final tribute that feels personal, free, and beautiful. Something that goes beyond a traditional goodbye.

So I made a promise: I would help others honor their loved ones the same way I honored mine.

More Than a Service — A Responsibility

When you trust me to scatter your loved one’s ashes, you’re not just booking a skydive. You’re allowing me to be part of something sacred. Something emotional. Something real.

This isn’t just my job. This is a deeply personal calling, and I treat every single memorial with the reverence it deserves.

I personally handle every ceremony—from the first phone call to the final delivery of the memorial video. I never outsource. I never cut corners. You’re not just a client, and your loved one is not just a number.

You’re a family grieving. You’re someone who wants to do this the right way. I’m here to make sure that happens.

You’re in Experienced Hands

Here’s what I bring to every memorial:

  • USPA Certified Skydiver (License C-54052)

  • 575+ jumps completed with a perfect safety record

  • Specialized experience in ash scattering procedures

  • Four years of active skydiving, across multiple states and aircraft types

I’ve studied the safest and most respectful ways to scatter ashes in freefall. I use custom-designed equipment made specifically for memorial releases, and I train regularly to ensure each jump is smooth, controlled, and dignified.

Safety, Professionalism, and Care

I know how much this matters, and I don’t take shortcuts. Every ceremony follows a strict set of standards designed to protect both your loved one’s memory and your peace of mind:

  • FAA-Compliant Flights: All skydives are conducted legally under Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. I work with licensed pilots and approved dropzones only.

  • Equipment Inspection: All ash scattering gear is cleaned, tested, and maintained regularly. I never use makeshift containers or low-grade materials.

  • Weather Monitoring: Every flight is timed for safe, visible conditions. If winds or clouds aren’t right, I’ll delay the ceremony at no extra cost.

  • Secure Handling: From the moment your loved one’s ashes arrive, they are handled with complete dignity, stored securely, and transported with care.

  • Full Video Documentation: Every scattering includes a professionally shot video, allowing you and your family to witness the moment forever—even if you’re unable to attend in person.

If you choose to watch from the ground, I’ll help you find a public location nearby where you can observe the plane’s path and the moment of release. Many families describe it as deeply moving, healing, and spiritual.

This Is for the Ones Who Lived Differently

Some people just don’t fit in a box. They loved the wind, the sky, the mountains, the ocean. They were adventurers, dreamers, wanderers, or simply free-spirited souls.

If that sounds like your loved one, then this ceremony was made for them.

Whether it’s over the forests of Michigan, a desert canyon, or three miles out over the ocean, I will work with you to create a release that’s worthy of their story.

A Personal Note About Trust

I know this isn’t an easy decision. I know it can feel strange to ship ashes, to trust a stranger with something so sacred. That’s why I make myself available from day one. You’ll talk to me directly—not a call center, not a sales rep.

Ask questions. Voice concerns. Share stories. I want to know who your loved one was, because that helps me honor them the way they deserve.

I’ve worked with families from across the country, and I’ve heard everything from nervous skepticism to deep gratitude once the ceremony is done. If you need reassurance, I’ll give it. If you need references, I’ll share them. This process is about you, not me.
